The wreath kinda looks like something a dog would throw up after eating some non-edibles off the Christmas tree.

The crown is just really ugly.

Yeah, I got the Wreath thing on my sin. Looked horrible, kinda metro-sexual or something. Got the Ice Crown later and it looked great except for the fur down the sides. The hair mutilated it.

Somewhere in the north of Europe, I think Iceland or Finland, it's tradition for one of the daughters of the house to wear a wreath of candles the eve of Christmas - or maybe it's the morning of, I can't remember. So the candles, they are a cultural thing - though the wreaths/crowns I've seen look nothing like the one Anet did - I really really liked the flowers and candles. Agreed it must look very odd on male characters.

The ice crown I'm not too fond of, but they could do worse.

Wait, weren't people complaining last year about how bad they thought the art was?

I don't like ANET's messups, and how none of their ice items [hats/gaunts/weaps] don't match each other. If the gauntlets matched the hat, I'd say, "Looks good!" but sorry, they don't match.

C'mon peeps! It's just a matter of perspective and these are just simple wintersday festival hats. I was shocked too at first in all honesty but I was able to have some fun with them. I guess everyone just expected something wayy different.(me too actually) They are very different and very original imho compared to the stuff before. Not as flashy as before either but very interesting and silly et fun too. I love the wreath crown someone posted on a bearded male wammo lool.

Definitely a different look for my ele lmao...(copy/paste spam) 8D

What can I say. I like the hats. The ice hat went pretty far from the concept picture but it's cool in it's own way. Very nordic like Gaile said somewhere. I've wrote this litany so many times now mt fingers need a rest. xDD
Anyway I have my peace with the hats. :P

Yeah actually, i dunno if that white stuff is supposed to be hair... but considering one minute it is, it goes well with your ele.
It's still Steel Ingot Crown, though.

Yet that is one of the most horrible combos I can think of but funny it worked there. Airforged 1k was what I happened to have. <.<

I was expecting somekind of a shiny/glowy, icicle white crown myself but I'm quite happy with the ones we got and I can understand there might be graphical limitations so no animations or glowyness. The black ice sort of feels more norn/viking themed. Very masculine hat whereas the wreath crown is very feminine. I think Anet did a good job on the baldness issue too. The wreath crown sort of covers the entire head cutely. I really wished though that if we get headgear in GW2 a characters hair would remain with the hat.

Anyway thank you Anet for the event and the gifts.<3

Hats look acceptable. Really can't expect the finished product to look exactly like the contest winner's artwork.
